Right Here, Right Now

What I'm wearing...crazy, zig zag, black, orange and teal leggings, black tunic top and black socks

What I'm reading... Stella Bain by Anita Shreve.  I am about halfway through it and every once in a while it seems that I've read it before, but then it doesn't. Weird. It's a good read so I will keep going!

What's happening in my kitchen... hubby made egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, we had chicken salad sandwiches for lunch and while I was sewing masks hubby made Grape Nuts bread. We had a slice with our coffee this afternoon and it is delicious.

What's outside my window... another damp, dreary, rainy day. I am sooooo tired of this dreary weather. The squirrels have come back to the birdfeeder... but only one at a time, not the five or six that we had before. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice, warm(er), sunny day... I am cautiously optimistic. We are going to don our masks and trek to the farm center and pick up garden supplies.

What I'm thankful for...thankful we are comfortable in our "house arrest" and that so far all of my family is safe and well.

What I'm smelling... the lingering smell of bread that was baked and a chicken carcass simmering on the stove to make stock.

What I'm hearing... the fan on my laptop is running non-stop, and that worries me a bit. Boozer, the dog, is click clicking as he moves from one spot to another.

What I'm crafting... I have been sewing masks for family and local medical staff, but that came to a standstill today.  I have three sewing machines and they are all old and crotchety. Two of them stopped working early on in this process and today the third one decided to act up. I got frustrated and decided it would be best if I just walked away for a while. I'll tackle it again tomorrow. I've started my sweater and so far it's pretty simple. I think the crocheting will be easy the trick is going to be the finishing.

What's  on my mind... the same thing that I think is on all of our minds... COVID-19. I live in upstate New York and the next two weeks are supposed to be the worst for us. We are already seeing quickly rising numbers of cases in our area and that is worrisome. We have a niece who is a nurse in a Manhattan hospital and another in an Albany hospital, our daughter in law is an ER nurse here, please keep them in your prayers.

Words live by...

Stay safe and well

Thanks for dropping by...
